My love of nature and my garden speaks to me through watercolor. The medium seems to capture the immediacy of flowers and their beauty. Long after they have faded away, their essence, captured through paint, remains to remind us of their transcendental quality. I find painting the figure in watercolor particularly challenging, but enjoy the process and consider life drawing to help create personal artistic growth. The process of painting requires “a heart of fire and a mind of ice”. John Sloane (1871-1951)
